Health Benefits of Night Walk - Walking after meals(After Dinner)

Here are 10 reasons why I think you should round-up your dog, partner, kids, neighbour or just yourself for an after-dinner stroll:

It’s a great way to get in some physical activity without even realizing it (you won’t dread a nice stroll)! Every little bit counts.
‘Unplugging’ yourself and your family from the T.V./computer/phone is really important.
(1) Great chance for family time/ a nice chat with a friend/ to reflect by yourself on your day!
(2) It’s usually a nice temperature outside (not too hot).
(3) Knowing you are going for a walk will likely encourage you to forego that second helping or the big dessert! Go for your walk first.. you will probably find you are no longer hungry when you return.
(4) Even a little physical activity can help combat depression.
(5) Even if you feel full and lethargic from dinner, take it slow and I promise you will feel better after a little stroll.
(6) If you have a dog they will thank you.
(7) You will sleep better! We know that people who are active sleep better.  Just try to walk right after dinner and not right before bed to allow for some downtime.
(8) You will be proud of yourself for making the effort to get off the couch, spend quality time with others, and maybe even model good behaviours to your kids!
(9) So here is your challenge! Try to go for at least 3 after-dinner walks a week.. then see if you can increase the number and eventually make it part of your routine.
(10) Your family, friends, brain, body (and waistline) with thank you.
